Vtg Powolny Loetz Hans Bolek Black Tango Glass Rose Bowl Vase Maidens Dragonflys

Offered here is a fabulous piece of glass.

I believe I have identified what this is , but I am sure I will be corrected if I am wrong.

This is a rose bowl or vase in a bibrant tango orange coloured glass , decorated with maidens and a continuous scene around the entire circumference which is in contrasting black.

The female figures are frollicking with dragonflys and other insects .

The pattern appears to have been etched into the glass and the black colouring looks to have been applied later .

This has the original metal top .

The entire piece stand 15 cms or 5.75  inches tall and measures 17 cms or 6.75 inches across its diameter.

The piece is in good condition with no chips or cracks , there is some wear to the black sections .

I would estimate this dates to c1910 to c1920 .

I believe this is a Powolny Loetz piece of Art Glass . It certainly has a feel of both the Art Nouveau and Art Deco period and is from the transition between the two.

It may well be by one of the Wiener Werkstatte designers , possibly Hans Bolek , or Moser or Hoffman.

I believe it is blown glass rather than cased glass but I am sure an expert will put me right on my description , unless of course they snap it up as an instant bargain.

Good Luck.
