This tenor saxophone is a gold-plated "New Voll-True" made in 1932. The serial number is 140277.The horn is in exquisite condition. No dents, dings or other damage. The gold plate is close to 100 percent. The only imperfections I could find are around two posts. It looks like there was some minor solder leakage. This sax produces a rich sound top to bottom. It sounds just like a Chu Berry tenor to me. An Otto Link hard rubber mouthpiece works great on this sax. Saxes of this vintage need a large-chamber mouthpiece. The tenor has had a recent overhaul--all new pads, corks, bumpers. The mechanics are fluid. An interesting fact: sax makers usually reserved gold plate for their best horns. You can hear samples of the sound on Youtube.
