Louis Levinsohn Hand Painted Sevres Style Cabinet Cup & Saucer Circa 1886 - 1891.

Absolutely stunning Victorian porcelain cabinet cup and saucer. The cup is beautifully decorated in the Sevres style with elaborate gold gild designs over a green band at the top, with very fine gold gilded moriage beading. The saucer has identical gold gilding over a yellow band around the edge. Both the cup and saucer are marked on the bottom in blue with Rapier swords over an S. This mark was used by Louis Levinsohn in Tiefenfurt, Silesia between 1886 and 1891. The company was sold to P. Donath and Germany was added to the mark in 1891.

The cup has two chips to the bottom rim that have been gilded over, but does not appear to have any other chips, cracks or wear to the gilding. The saucer has a very tiny amount of wear to the gilding which is not very noticeable, but is in otherwise excellent condition with no chips or cracks. This is a lovely set in a scarcely seen style for Levinsohn, which displays very well.

Cup measures 3 1/8" tall x 2 7/8" wide.
Saucer measures 4 1/4" wide.
