Verkannt - in dem Dutzend neuer Songs klingen INXS motiviert wie lange nicht!

Auch wenn das letzte Studioalbum der 6 Aussies bei weitem nicht an alte Erfolge anknüpfen konnte, so bringt es doch den wahren Musikgeist von INXS zu Tage. Denn die Scheibe ist Rock vom Feinsten! Songs wie Elegantly wasted, Dont lose your head bringen eine Coolness rüber, die unverwechselbar ist. Die Scheibe wurde sogar in Australien teilweise boykottiert (Zu schlecht war die Meinung), aber die Band hat sich weiterentwickelt, ob das allen schmeckt, oder nicht! Sucht man Charthits - Fehlanzeige, aber dieses Album im Auto hören, während man durchs australische Outback ( in Deutschland gehts auch ;-) ) fährt - ein Genuss! Nichts ist schlimmer als Stillstand, aber dieses Problem hatte INXS mit dem Produzieren dieses Albums nicht. Für INXS-Einsteiger gibt es sicher bessere Alben, aber treue Fans finden auch an dieser letzten Scheibe ihren Gefallen - und das absolut zu Recht!

Elegantly Wasted is a very intense album with a variation of unique musical styles. Ranging from the soul-sound of "Searching" to the power of "Don't Lose Your Head", it can be upbeat, melodic, and passionate. It manages to maintain a dance element without being "teeny-bopper" music. Lyrically, it is very mature, and gives a very personal look at the life of Michael Hutchence, a gifted and extremely talented man, with songs such as "I'm Just A Man" and "Building Bridges". You know that every word he sings is meant, and written not to sell, but written from the bottom of his heart. This is INXS' most mature, powerful, and certainly their best album yet.
