Offered for your consideration is a Vintage 1950’s Shopping Girl Christmas Planter/Candy Holder, Spaghetti Trim, NAPCO or RELPO.

The label is missing and the maker is either Napco or Relpo.  She is 7” tall x 5” wide x 4 ½” front to back.  She carries presents with fired-on gold highlights.  One present is marked ‘Joy’ and the wreath on her right arm is marked ‘Merry Xmas’.  Her coat and hat are trimmed with white and gold spaghetti clay.  The red and green colors are cold-painted and there is some paint loss.  An easy remedy to fix that is to touch them up with Testor Model Paints or remove the old and repaint.

There is some light crazing to the glaze as testimony to its age.  I also find some mineral deposits inside the planter.  It’s just the right size to hold some candy canes or artificial holiday holly and poinsettias.
