Don't roll your bat as it will void your warranty or you could even have your bat broken which is not uncommon.  As safe as batting practice is to break in a new bat, put a pocket in that new leather glove, pounding out those dead spots outside of the sweet spot on your used bats.                               I have personally used this to break in my Miken freak+ and Worth Mutant.  I use a 13" handle that is is secured internally two different ways to the ball.  It will create the speed needed to get that deep pocket your looking for and for that good impact on your bat.  Using a longer handle also keeps you from accidentally smashing your hand on the bat or the stitching of a glove.  Drastically reduces the dreaded break in time of your bat and/or glove. When using on a glove I personally like to use a leather cream or a pitch and work the pocket, fingers and that tough leather stitching at the palm.  The mallet will allow you to make the exact pocket you want as you have full control.  I also work the hinge from the outside of the glove to make the glove close the way I want it to.  The mallet generates a lot of force so start out slow so you don't hurt your hand.  In no time at all you will have that custom fitting glove that would have taken you weeks maybe in months to create.  Get your mitt ready to catch the lightning!

When using on a bat I personally like to hold the bat at the taper with one hand while working the length of the barrel with the mallet in my other hand.  I use approx 7-8 strikes on the length of the barrel then rotate the bat and ball about an inch or less and repeat until you have gone all the way around the barrel.  You have to use moderate force when doing this so use caution.  This will get your bat game ready ASAP avoiding those 300-400 BP hits needed to break it in.  So get one now and start hitting bombs!
