A WW1 British Army helmet with its original coat of factory textured paint which mostly present & in worn / aged condition, please study photos. The shell is all good with only one very slight / shallow dent, (hardly seen). The underside brim is stamped with "H.S 442", (Hadfield Ltd of Sheffield, the steel supplier). The numbers 442 referring to the batch of metal used. The sized 7 liner is in great condition with just some very slight mothing to the edges of the oval felt crown cushion, again, please see pics. The black rexine fabric is in very good condition also. It is the early pattern liner with no rubber 'doughnut' under the felt at the crown. The standard (nice & clear) 'Brodie' red ink stamping is on the inside of the lining. The original owner has put his initials (twice) inside the lining. The leather chinstrap is complete & in good condition. A very nice piece of history.
