Pendant from Chiapas, Mexico. This pendant has an irregular shape, measures 1 1/4-inch and comes with a leather necklace with clasps. Fun and casual. This set came from the town of Chiapa de Corzo in Chiapas Mexico. This set was artisanally and hand made, from the polishing and shaping of the amber to the setting.

Amber is found in certain parts of the world, Russia and Mexico where it is mostly found. There is a lot of fake amber from China, and the best way to authenticate it is under black/uv light as real amber glows under such light, plastic and glass do not.

It is believed in Chiapas that amber protects the person that wears it from negative energy. It is said that amber will absorb negative energy and will crack when that happens. People wear it for protection in that region of Mexico

Amber is fossilized tree resin, which has been appreciated for its color and natural beauty since Neolithic times. Much valued from antiquity to the present as a gemstone, amber is made into a variety of decorative objects. Amber is used as an ingredient in perfumes, as a healing agent in folk medicine, and as jewelry.
