The Carl Zeiss Jena Sonnar 180 mm f/ 2.8 is a fast telephoto lens. Legendary Zeiss 180/2.8 Olympia Sonnar originally produced for the 1936 Berlin Olympics, the 180/2.8 Sonnar remains in production to this day. It has a mysticism and history about it few other optics can even begin to approach.
It is an excellent portrait lens. It can be easily mounted on modern DSRL and mirrorless cameras by means of an adapter.
It was produced in East Germany. It has a single-layer coating but there is a version with a multilayer coating -the Carl Zeiss Jena MC Sonnar 180 mm f/ 2.8.
The image is sharp and, at the same time, flexiblewith a beautiful bokeh. The contrast is medium.
The Carl Zeiss Jena Sonnar 180 mm f/ 2.8 is an excellent choice for portrait, landscape and fragment photography.

Body has no wear. Front and Rear glass are perfect - no wear or scratches. Coating has no damage. Iris blades are clean from oil. No dust, no fungus or haze inside! The aperuture moves nicely at every aperture position. The aperture-control ring turns smoothly and accurate. Aperture works in Auto and Manual mode well. The focusing turns smoothly and precise.
