Syrian, (Damascus), created for the Ottoman market - dating from the beginning of the 20th century.

A traditional hand raised and finished brass zarf pot of tapering and flaring form. A double riveted brace incorporates the ornate and finely finished handle section.

The surface is finished with highly intricate and complex chiseled and punched decoration. The decoration incorporates an applied overlay of silver and copper. Three shaped cartouches contain inscriptions - detailed by the additional images.

Internally, the vessel is fully tinned.

Overall length - 9 3/8" (238mm).

Weight - 316 grams

Condition - Very Good. Minor surface marks - consistent with age etc. No repairs. Fine natural colour and patina.
