SUPPLIED COMPLETE WITH BLANKING-CAP TO SEAL PCV BRANCH-OFF 

VARIATIONS IN BOOST PRODUCTION, AIR/FUEL MIXTURE AND DRIVABILITY CAN OFTEN BE TRACED TO LEAKS IN THE INTAKE SYSTEM OF THE 2.7T ENGINE.

BOOST LEAKS, ESPECIALLY ON A CHIPPED CAR WITH STANDARD TURBOS CAN LEAD TO OVERSPINNING AND PREMATURE FAILURE OF TURBOS.

A TYRE-INFLATOR AND COMPRESSED-AIR SOURCE ARE REQUIRED TO OPERATE THIS TESTER. A FOOTPUMP OR SMALL 12V COMPRESSOR CAN NOT GENERATE ENOUGH VOLUME OF AIR TO PRESSURE THE SYSTEM.

INSTALLATION OF THE TESTER REQUIRES REMOVAL OF THE INTAKE HOSE (ACCORDIAN HOSE) RUNNING BETWEEN THE MAF AND Y-PIPE. SLIDE THE RUBBER CLAMP ASSY OVER THE INLET OF THE Y-PIPE. LINE-UP THE O-RING INSIDE THE TESTER WITH THE GROOVE IN THE Y-PIPE FOR A SECURE FIT AND TIGHTEN UP THE CLAMP. UNCLIP THE PCV DAMPER FROM Y-PIPE AND SEAL THE BRANCH-OFF WITH THE BLANKING-CAP SUPPLIED. REMOVE THE OIL FILLER-CAP, AS THIS WILL ELIMINATE A HISS NOISE FROM THE PCV DAMPER (PREVIOUSLY REMOVED) AS AIR PRESSURISES THE CRANKCASE DURING TESTING.

USING THE TYRE-INFLATOR, PRESSURISE THE SYSTEM USING THE INTEGRATED PRESSURE-GAUGE TO A MAX OF 1BAR. TAKE CARE IN CASE THE TESTER POPS OFF! CLEANING THE END OF THE Y-PIPE TO REMOVE ANY OIL WILL HELP THE ASSY TO GET A BETTER GRIP.

WITH PRESSURE IN THE SYSTEM (WHICH SHOULD SLOWLY LEAK AWAY PAST THE PISTON RINGS INTO THE CRANCKASE) LISTEN FOR ANY LEAKS. COMMON LEAKS ARE THROTTLE-BODY BOOT, F-PIPE, INJECTOR SEALS AND INTERCOOLER END-CAPS.

USING THE INTEGRATED PRESSURE GAUGE MEANS YOU CAN MAINTAIN THE CORRECT PRESSURE IN THE SYSTEM WHILST CHECKING FOR LEAKS WITHOUT THE RISK OF OVER PRESSURISING AND CAUSING ONE, OR DAMAGING OIL SEALS.

I CAN ALSO SUPPLY THE TESTER TO FIT A SMALLER SIZE [ eg AUDI 1.8T ] O/D 60mm - 70mm (approx. 2 1/2"+) TO SUIT OTHER MODELS & MAKES OF CAR - (BLANKING CAP NOT INCLUDED). THIS TESTER FITS O/D 76mm - 85mm. (approx. 3"+) & WILL BE SUPPLIED UNLESS ADVISED OTHERWISE.
