This heavy tweed dress and matching coat are of the highest quality. Bearing two labels - Mattli and Schwartz of Belgravia and Knightsbridge - it is 1970s tailoring at its finest, obviously destined for a well-heeled woman about town.

Both pieces are unbelievably heavy, fully lined throughout, and in superb condition.

They are each woven from identical rich orange and slate grey wool but the dress has a finer weave, while the coat is constructed of thick chunky threads, adding welcome texture and interest to the ensemble.

The coat features wide belt loops and comes with the original belt, which is still supple and free from cracking or peeling.

Both the current and the dress are distinguished with stunning and flattering seaming details - a mark of their quality.

Of course the dress is perfect alone but I would say this set is ideal for an outdoor winter or early spring event the races or point to point for example.

And a hat and throw a stole or wrap over your shoulder and you are ready to withstand the cold without compromising on style.

I would say this is best suited to a UK 12 or 14 at a push.

The dress measures 38 30 40 and the coat 40 34 42.
