To further verify these Eneloop, we opened our pack (Not yours) and compared the Eneloop in these packages with those that reads  "1500 times" and "HR-3UTGA-4BP" on the package. They are EXACTLY the same. Further to that, we'd already clarified the authenticity of these batteries with Sanyo.

Eneloop is the next generation of rechargeable battery (LSD NiMH battery) that reduces self-discharge and, therefore, lengthens shelf life compared to normal NiMH batteries. Once charged can be stored for 1 year while still holding 70-85% of their charge at 20 °C (68 °F). Some rechargeable batteries also lose the ability to hold power after 1000 charges. How to verify the authenticity of your Eneloop cell?
	For older batches of eneloop, there are 4 vents on the positive terminal and each vent appears to be almost squarish. These vents are removed (not visible) in the Newer eneloop. (Both of those are genuine batteries)
	The Metallic Blue-ish prints of the Eneloop logo as well as the "+" and "-" signs
	The date code is printed just above the seam, right below the warnings   on the battery
	The Anode should be covering the battery cap
	The Contact area of the Cathode  (Negative Terminal) appears to be taken up at least 70% of the bottom of the battery. (Fakes are only 50% coverage)
	Built-quality and finishing of the fake ones are not as good as the genuine eneloop (symbols / logo may not be in-line; prints are dull, fainted and faded)

How to determine 2nd generation (1,500 times) from 1st generation (1,000 times)?
	The Eneloop with the Crown - Do not  mistaken  that!!!
	Some of the  2nd generation Eneloop  reads "up to 1,500 times" on the blister package but some used the OLD US package that reads HR-3UTG-4BP! Therefore, the 2nd generation can't be judged directly by the package! Just verify that by the "Crown" and the product code on the battery itself. It should read HR-3UTGA on the battery.

DOA (Dead on Arrival) is a very rare  (less than 0.01%) but it may still happen   that they are damaged during the shipping process.               It's sometimes   inevitable that even top brands like HP and IBM has DOAs. We are being backed up   and covered by the official supplier. So, we can do an exchange. Sanyo servicing   department will check the batteries and they will further identify the defected   batteries as all eneloop has a datecode (birth certificate) engraved on it. They   need to verify that since they will determine if the defects happens to the   whole batch with the same datecode. They also need to trace back and verify the sales channel  these batteries   comes  from.               Please contact us first for further assistance prior making any feecbacks or making a case. We'll appreciate and will sort things out with GOOD buyers who communicate and work things out with us!
This is the normal return and replace procedure on DOA (ONLY for DOA):
	Ship back the package with tracking number (with the opened blistered   package if you still have it there).
	We'll send the DOA back to Sanyo for verification and   exchange (datecode verification).
	Once verified by the officials (Sanyo), we'll arrange to ship the exchanged item again and we'll even pay you back the return postage.
