...is pleased to introduce an Adorable Miniature Newborn Polar Bear Cub...

"Hiko"

I'm excited to introduce Hiko to you! He is a sweet and tiny polar bear cub - I hope he appeals to your heart! I designed him to be a newborn cub who is just opening his eyes. He has the pink accents that a real newborn polar bear has. His name is Inuit for "ice".

Hiko is 2 3/4" long – these miniature babies are a challenge, but so fun to do! His quilted rug is about 7” at its widest.

Hiko is a one of a kind (OOAK) artist polar bear completely designed and handsewn (no machine sewing) by me, Melisa Nichols. He is very detailed and as such he is his own unique individual and can not be duplicated ~ a true one of a kind. Many, many hours went into this baby! I am no longer doing special orders and will not be creating another one like him.

Hiko is made from a very short pile faux fur.

Hiko's adorable face is full of detail. His face has been carefully thread sculpted, scissor sculpted and shaded. He has soulful black glass eyes with moveable eyelids. I hand sculpted his teeny tiny realistic epoxy clay nose :o)

Hiko's detailed paws are thread sculpted and shaded. I hand sculpted each of his tiny claws, then shaded and sealed them.

Because of all this detailed work, I will never be able to create another polar bear just like Hiko. I do not have a pattern that I can re-make him with.

Hiko is completely handsewn and filled with polyfil, pellets (in his tummy), and an extra portion of cuddles. He is armatured for lots of fun poses!

I hand sewed and embroidered Hiko's quilted rug. The top is velveteen and it is a lighter olive green than it looks in the photos.

I went a little overboard with the photos... I hope you enjoy seeing all of them!

Hiko and his quilted rug will arrive in a special box with hang tags that include his birth date, a picture of him and a signed Certificate of Authenticity. He is a collectable baby polar bear made for display only - not suitable for children due to small parts.
