1991 Chevrolet Z-28 Third Generation Camaro Convertible.
Sharp
looking car.
305 V8
5.0 Tuned port injection with an Automatic transmission, Engine runs well,
transmission shifts smoothly and the cars exhaust with the headers has a nice
low rumble to it. The car sounds tough, but isn't obnoxiously loud.
134k
original miles
Power Windows, locks, steering,
brakes, tilt, cruise.
Nearly new General G-Max Tires
P225/55 ZR 16. I only took a close up photo of one tire (didn't want to waste
the eBay photo space) but all 4 have the same amount of tread and were
purchased as a matching set.
Cold A/C, new Delco Compressor and dryer.
The
car's body is nice, the paint which is about 3 years old (previous owner had it
painted before I got it) looks good and shines well. The front nose, lower
valance and rear bumper are also in good shape.
The
seats are gray cloth, they've faded some, but are in good shape, the carpet
looks good.
The
rubber window seals (sweeps) on both doors have been replaced on the inside and
outside of the windows.
The
canvas convertible manual top is a few years old, but it’s really tight and in
decent shape, the part of the top that meets the cars body at the trunk has
turned up some (pictured).
The
trunk has the GM factory automatic closing mechanism, it works as it should.
The
Camaro makes no weird sounds, it leaks nothing on the garage floor, it handles
well and I wouldn't hesitate to take it on a lengthy road trip.
The few
things that you need to be aware of are as follows:
The
dash has cracked from the sun (Pictured), the plastic piece that covers the
area beneath the gearshift in the center console is missing a section
(Pictured). There are some swirl marks in the paint from being waxed with a
buffing wheel and a few minor scratches and dimples and such on the car,
nothing that would show up in the photographs that I took. The tachometer
doesn’t work and some of rubber and plastic pieces around the doors have dried
out from the Sun down here. The cruise and horn aren’t working (The cruise
needs a new servo, and the horn isn’t connected to the aftermarket steering
wheel that the previous owner installed, I never hooked it up because my
intention was to replace it with an original steering wheel. The passenger side
window is slow, the windshield has some marks from old wiper blades and lastly,
the power lock actuators for the doors and top release are weak and don’t
always work completely when the buttons are pushed the first time. I know this
sounds like a long list, but just wanted to eliminate any surprises for the new
owner. I hate surprises.
Overall
the Camaro is a good looking, good running, dependable and fun to drive 23 year
old car. It's not brand new off the showroom floor, but still a very nice car.
If you
are local or even if you're not, I invite and encourage you or someone you know
to inspect the Camaro prior to bidding. I'm in West Palm Beach Florida.
Anyway,
I'd be happy to answer any questions that you may have, just shoot me an email.
Thanks!
