the khaki-brown wool uniforms was introduced to French Army in 1915 to replace the dark blue tuincs.  At the end of 1915, a new greatcoat was also introduced to the French Army, the Mle 1914/15, which allow for the carrying of more ammunition: 2 large pockets with a flap were added to each side.
