 i bought this REMOTE today based on what Robodog stated... that it works with the 2000 unit... i hooked it up, and it works like a charm.
 
As was stated before plugs right in and works with the 5K winch,the fact they provide a ground in the 5K winch control plug indicates they meant for the wireless remote to be used, ground is not nesissary for remote switch operation,,, and as also stated before can be wired for any winch that needs a positive voltage control, I am going to pick up several more..
 
Cut off the electrical plug and you will find a 4 wire receiver. Yellow/green=12 volt,Black= ground, Blue=in, brown=out. I use this to operate a battery over hydraulic aerial work platform which is functioning as an elevator in my home. Additionally I also use to operate a 5 ton dump trailer. Only issue was the dump valve for the aerial work platform drew 4.5 amps. Remote is fused at 3 amps. Work-around was to add a relay rated at 30 amps which only draws .2 amps. Very pleased. Be sure to remove the power from the remote's receiver when going down the road.
