before 3-3-02, order kit number K495. If made after 3-3-02, order K496.
The Explorer/Sport Trac lift retains factory ride quality,
steering geometry and CV axle angles. All load-bearing bracketry is laser-cut
from .25" steel plate. This replacement steering knuckle lift includes lower
control arm crossmembers, plus bracketry to lower the torsion bar crossmember. Superide leaf springs provide rear lift.
Includes front and rear Superide shocks.
Expect the factory front drivesahaft to last no more than
20K miles; Superlift offers an optional, replacement heavy duty CV style shaft. We also suggest our optional front skidplate, which protects the differential
and increases lower control arm crossmember rigidity. The puller tool required
for the factory torsion bars is not that common; this tool is available from
Superlift.

Notes:
- When lifted, the stock front driveshaft's life span is considerably reduced; expect a life of 25k to 30k miles. The Superlift replacement shaft is a more "lift friendly" dual cardan design.
- 1996-97 Explorers require the addition for a front differential isolator pad available from a Ford dealer.
- 1996-2001 Ford Explorer 4X4 will not work on AWD models

PLEASE NOTE: The provided tire/wheel fitments are approximate. Actual dimensions of a given tire size can vary considerably from one brand to another. Manufacturers’ wheel offset and backspacing measurement points are not always consistent. Backspacing greatly impacts tire-to-fender clearance when turning. Wheel width and backspacing influence whether the tires protrude past the fenders, and to what extent. Considering these important factors, we recommend that you fit-check your tire/wheel selection prior to purchasing.
