                 We don’t just sell pieces of wood, we sell products that are unique and bespoke and that they will be of joy to you for many, many years to come. To achieve this we’d like to give you as much say over your product as possible so we can produce exactly what you want:

 

Therefore, when you are making us an offer please let us know the following:

 

1.      Length and width of your shelf/mantel or when buying surrounds follow the sketch drawing instruction (a pics of your fireplace would also help us make your bespoke surround)

            2.      Timber grades used – SAME PRICE: There are two grades of wood we work with:

            Semi Rustic – “clean” with little if any knots/splits or other imperfection,

            Rustic – is the opposite of the above, with lovely swirls, knots/splits and the like.

            3.      Edge profiles available: please see our guide @ http://www.ebay.co.uk/gds/Edge-profiles-/10000000204705657/g.html  NO EXTRA CHARGES

            4.      And finally treatment – we can treat your beam with either highest quality Danish Oil (will lightly darken the wood, bringing up all the characters) or Clear Hard Wax Oil (will preserve natural shade of the wood) – we charge £5 apiece

About Us - We are small, family run business based in Hertfordshire, that is, unlike some major blue-chip, paying UK TAXES and are proud of delivering truly personalised service to our customers. Our extended expertise, not only in Oak World, definitely make us standing out from the crowd. We do not act as a wholesaler; we simply sell large volumes of high quality oak products at massively reduced prices – direct to the public and commercial hospitality customers.

To offer even greater savings to our customers we are working as an online business. Saying that, we are looking at having showroom in Hemel Hempstead alongside our existing sales offices, at the minute it’s all online.

 

The way we work:

We specialise in selling fantastic quality, made to measure oak products at unbeatable prices. But how do we do it? In a nutshell: we cut out the expensive middlemen and always keep costs to a minimum.

Instead of buying from expensive wholesalers, who take a lump of profit, we design all our products ourselves and manufacture via exclusive contracts with overseas suppliers. We are proud to offer bespoke, made to measure, quality and characters furniture that are suitable for any room.

We minimise our storage requirements by moving our products from manufacture to our customers’ homes with as few steps in between as possible. Rather than being a storage facility, our Distribution Centre acts as a turnaround depot to receive products from our craftsmen and then dispatch direct to you; the result being significantly reduced lead times and much faster delivery than most other large furniture companies in the UK.

We nurture a supportive, can-do culture which stems from our roots as a small, start-up company. This ethos has allowed us to develop an efficient, loyal and motivated workforce, which in turn has contributed greatly to our current position.

 

Rustic Wood - Important – Please read before you buy:

• As Oak is a natural product each piece may be different in appearance and slightly in colour. The grain of each beam will vary, some may have a straighter grain than others. Presented pictures are for illustrative purposes only and serve to demonstrate what we can do for you with regard to colour and edge finishes.

• Our character beams may already contain surface cracks - caused by the natural drying process, most contain knots, swirls and other imperfections, knots, pin holes, & waney edges. For solid oak (as opposed to engineered one) splits/cracks are very natural and NORMAL, even for oak seasoned for years, and this is because when the board is first cut/mill is then put away and stored for years not touched. Once we process it, internal tensions/pressures will start to play its part and make the wood split.

• A small percentage of beams have area's of pin holing which are always treated for woodworm.

• Although properly air dried & seasoned, it is not unusual for the oak to develop further shrinkage, movement, splits and cracks as it acclimatises to your properties temperature, some small splits (especially at the end of shelf/beam might occur in Prime wood as well).

• We recommend that if the beams are going above a log burner, fire or any intense heat, that the heat should be gradually increased over a period of a few weeks or more if possible.

• Any of the above can only add a great deal of character to the beam.

 

  

Payment:

We appreciate payment as soon as your purchase is made to enable us to proceed with your order as soon as possible, we accept PayPal or Bank transfer, or cash on collection (by appointment only) – please note, we can only start working on your order when we receive payment from you.

 

Delivery, Returns & Exceptions:

We will despatch your item upon receiving your payment, depending on extra work required (oiling, edge profiling etc.) it might take up to 12 working days to receive your item.

On the delivery day, our couriers will advise 2 hour window, if not convenient you will be given a few options to have it redelivered, left somewhere safe etc. (they normally sending email and sometimes text msg as well)

For an additional piece of mind, You will be given tracking number for every parcel.

IMPORTANT  - please inspect your parcel before signing, if you have any doubts as of the integrity of your product (e.g. the packaging is damaged, even a small dent etc.) please either open the box up to check or if not possible/practicable, please make a note “DAMAGED” – the delivery courier has to assist with this. Please still accept the parcel but ask the courier to make a note and don’t let him go without him doing so, if you could also take some pics at this stage it would help tremendously later. Otherwise we will not be able to make a claim and would also delay any refunds due to you – so your assistance in this matter would be mutually beneficial.

 

No fuss returns policies – if you don’t like out product – simply wrap it back and we do the rest. We do charge a small fee of £15 to cover the costs of returns per pack. There wouldn’t be any charges if we get your order wrong or it got damaged in transit.

 

We accept returns for ALL of our beams/shelves, even made to measures.

Delivery Exclusions  

Delivery costs quoted exclude, Scottish islands and British offshore Islands, we can deliver to these areas but it will incur additional charges, please contact us directly for costs BEFORE placing any order.
