The firm of Thomas Kelly, famous for Kelly's Directory, was founded in 1799. It specialised in publishing compendia of useful information, copiously illustrated, for a growing middle class readership.
Book condition: fair to good. Externally worn, with front board virtually detached to one volume. Foxing & stains throughout, from mild to extensive (representative sample of plates photographed). 2 of the maps are torn; one plate is torn with loss.
Condition and loss of some plates/maps is reflected in the price; frontispiece nearly detached in volume 1. Has approx 150 pages on Australia & an index from a different work (simialr period) bound in to rear of Volume 2.
