The iconic DeLorean DMC-12 is a sports car manufactured by John DeLorean's DeLorean Motor Company for the American market from 1981–83. The car features gull-wing doors and an innovative fiberglass chassis and underbody structure, along with a brushed stainless steel body. The car became widely known and cherished as a time machine in the Back to the Future film trilogy.

Experts estimate 1500 deloreans remain in drivable condition and less than 500 are in fully restored condition like this '83.

SPECIFICS / BUILD INFORMATION 

EXTERIOR:

- A product of Georgette Giugiaro - Italy's most famous automobile designer.

- Paneled in brushed SS304 stainless steel.

- Stainless steel panels are fixed to a fiberglass, monocoque underbody.

- Underbody is affixed to a double-Y frame chassis, derived from the Lotus Esprit platform.

- Iconic gull-wing doors open easily with the support of torsion bars and gas-charged struts.

- All original trim, paneling and wheels.

- Era correct reflective window tint.

INTERIOR:

- Two tone black and gray leather interior. All original - incredible condition.

- Custom high dollar stereo system - Kenwood head-unit, large speakers and amplifier.

- Interior appears unmolested.

MECHANICAL:

- Peugeot-Renault-Volvo (PRV) 2.85 litre V6 which was designed and built under special contract with the DMC Company.

- 0-60 MPH is almost two seconds faster with the manual transmission!

We provide approximately 75 HD images, and an HD video, in every one of our listings.  Very few companies offer this much detail.  We spend significant time inspecting and disclosing detailed items on all of our vehicles; however, at the end of the day, we are not you... we highly suggest that you come and inspect the vehicle.
