Sanyo Eneloop 9.6v AA 1900mAh
Transmitter Battery Pack - Square Configuration - with Futaba Connector
I am very pleased to now be able to supply genuine Sanyo Eneloop battery packs.
While it is generally acknowledged that the Vapextech packs offer great
performance and reliabilty at a low cost I realise that there are many
modellers who want that extra assurance of fitting a top quality branded
product to their precious and valuable models.
Sanyo Eneloop cells unlike standard Nimh's have a very low self discharge rate.
This means that a fully charged pack after 6 months will still retain 80% of
it's charge and after 12 months will still be holding 70%. This means that less
time needs to be spent charging the pack.
Bear in mind that although the packs are claimed to be useable immediately
after purchase I STRONGLY ADVISE that for model aircraft applications that the
packs are fully charged and checked EVERY TIME before use.

Charging Advice
My own preferred method of charging
is to use a Voltage Peak Detect charger which can both fast charge the pack and
then automatically cut off when the pack is fully charged. I tend to charge the
9.6v, 6v and 4.8v AA size packs at 700mA and the 6v and 4.8v AAA packs at
400mA. I find these rates to be a good balance between fast charging while also
not putting the cells under too much stress. The result of this has been that
my battery packs have a good long lifespan and I've never had any failures at
all.
Alternatively you can use a plug in the wall trickle charger however the charge
rate should not be greater than 75mA. If a charge rate higher than this is used
there is the possibility of the battery continuing to be charged up even when
it is in a fully charged state. The battery cannot then vent off the same
energy being put into it and the cells will get hot which can then cause them
to be damaged.
This is why I personally always use a Voltage Peak detect charger and it also
has the added benefit of displaying the amount of charge that has been put into
a battery pack, plus they generally also have a cycle function that discharges
the pack to a safe level and then puts a full charge into it again.
About me
As I've already said I have been
flying RC model aircraft and gliders for over 36 years and this little Ebay
business is a good way to subsidise my hobby and especially my unhealthy
addiction to fast gliders. Being a modeller I also know the sort of service that
you expect so I will always send out any orders practically as soon as I
receive them (there's a Post Box just 20m away) and if you ever have a problem
or need a little advice I'm always happy to help as best I can.
I hope you've found that information
helpful and I look forward to supplying my batteries to you.
