Jo Routens
1960s

52 cm seat tube x 54cm top tube (c-c)

Just finished restoration work on this rare 1960s Jo Routens. Frame indicated mid 1960s to early 1970s original Jo Routens built frame: Routens Fork Crown ; rear brake cable guided through seat tube; Bottom bracket triangle reinforcements for rigidity; filled brazed front triangle; original paint in very good condition. Unfortunately the original two rod front derailleur was missing on this frame, so I replaced it with Huret Jubilee lightest derailleur set.

All original parts were cleaned / polished before install: Maxi Car large flange hubs (early version - no holes on side of flanges) , Stronglight triple crank (28, 38, 48) Mafac brake levers an cantilever brake calipers with new pads, original Routens steel Stem, Belleri handlebars (NOS), early Mavic 650B rims, new Sapim Spokes, Sedis Chain, Sachs 6 speed freewheel; Huret Jubilee derailleurs (front one replaces the original Routens two rod - was missing when found). Simplex shifter lever for rear derailleur and adapted Campagnolo shifter for front derailleur.
Verybest leather saddle on Simplex Steel seatpost. The Simplex seatpost needs an adapter in order to stay fixed, I will provide another seat post also, longer in size, for safely riding the bike.

New aluminium 650b fenders have been adapted to the frame and racks. A period correct Radios Headlight was installed on the front fender with the wiring running hidden under the fender and through the frame to the rear wheel "Jos" dinamo.

Brown Leather handlebartape has been used to match the Verybest saddle. New Sram / Jagwire brake cables and housings were used on the brakes.

Good luck !
