This is a vintage antique Native American beaded leather tulip bag/medicine pouch. These bags were used to carry small items. The design is unique. When the bag is empty, it is flat. When full, it expands and looks like a tulip (see pictures). It is 8" tall and made of soft leather. The edges are trimmed with blue, red & yellow seed beads. It is in good condition for its age with beadwork intact. The leather drawstring is cracked, but it is still in one piece. There is a black cloth liner that was hand-stitched in place. The beadwork design looks to me like Lakota Sioux or Cree.
