I am super excited to be rolling out a new line of tongs.....the blacksmith box-jaw style tongs.

The box-jaw tong is a popular style with smiths who frequently use flat bar, and this style provides the most secure hold of any style for flat stock.

My box jaw tongs are about 18 inches long total and are forged from new 5160 steel. 5160 makes an incredibly light, incredibly strong pair of tongs, providing a solid grip and low arm fatigue. 5160 tongs should never be quenched to cool them, when they become hot. This might harden them and cause them to break.

The "box" part of the jaw is made from 1/4x1-mild steel, forge welded on. I use a small mig tack weld to hold the mild steel in place, heat and flux with Iron Mountain Flux, and then go through at least three forge welding heats, to provide a solid, traditional box-jaw joint.

The apposite side of the jaw is equipped with shallow v-notches to help provide extra grip.

This ad is for one single pair of 1/2-inch by 1-inch box jaw tongs, meaning that these tongs fit snugly around that size.....1/2x1-inch. They can also be used to hold 1/2x3/4 and 1/2x1/2, however, they will not hold those sizes as securely.

My tongs are all hand forged, here in the United States in central Kentucky. I strive to produce a high-quality product, at a competitive and affordable price. I believe you will be very pleased with the performance of these tongs.

Do check out all of my other tools on my ebay store. I have a wide selection of hammers, punches, drifts, chisels, and tongs, and I am expanding all the time. If you buy multiple items I will combine the shipping as economically as possible and refund any excess shipping charges.

I do my best to ship as promptly as possible but do keep in mind, my tools are not mass produced oversees on a press. They are hand-forged, by order. Most orders ship within a week of the order date and if there will be any unexpected delays I will do my best to contact you.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
From all of us here at Fiery Furnace Forge Blacksmithing, thank you for supporting the forge!
