Just Beautiful Full Size 1940′s Solid 18ct Gold Bull Horn Lug Rolex Chronometer Gents Vintage Watch

The Overview

This is a beautiful example of the full size Rolex Precision dating from the mid 1940’s. The solid 18ct gold yellow gold bull horn lug style case is in excellent condition with only the most minimal signs of wear. The original ivory/cream Rolex signed dial has been professionally refinished to the highest possible standard and is deliciously elegant. The raised gilt (gold colour) Arabic spear head hour markers and Arabic hour numbers at ’12’ and ‘6’ along with the original gilt hands (blued steel second hand) provide the softest contrast to the dial and blend perfectly with the gleaming case. The very high grade Rolex signed manual wind movement is again in wonderful condition and has just been fully serviced by our professional watchmaker. To complete this piece we’ve added a new, high quality, Hirsch and Sonning Vintage Watches dark brown crocodile skin strap with gold plated buckle (we have the Hirsch franchise and would be happy to switch this to a black crocodile skin or any colour/material you require).

My asking price is below the value for a watch of this condition and rarity, particularly with the continual rise in value of vintage watches of this high quality. In view of the high grade Swiss movement, I will include a three month written guarantee on the movement, which is long enough for you to assess the working order. Also, I offer a full refund if you are not entirely happy, as long as the watch is returned within 14 days in the same condition and with a recognised and insured courier.

The Case

The provenance polished solid 18ct gold full size case is in excellent condition with only the most minimal signs of wear. The case measures just over 33 mm’s wide, excluding the original ‘thimble’ winding crown and 40 mm’s, including the bull horn lugs. The inside caseback is signed ‘Rolex Geneve Suisse’ and the case reference of ‘4411 125’. It has the appropriate hallmarks for solid 18ct gold. Swiss hallmarks don’t have dating tables and we’ve given the year as mid 1940’s based on the look and case reference.

The Dial

The original ivory/cream Rolex signed dial has been professionally refinished to the highest possible standard and is deliciously elegant. The raised gilt (gold colour) Arabic spear head hour markers and Arabic hour numbers at ’12’ and ‘6’ along with the original gilt hands (blued steel second hand) provide the softest contrast to the dial and blend perfectly with the gleaming case. The dial is signed ‘Rolex’, ‘Precision’ and ‘Swiss Made’.

The Movement

The very high grade Rolex signed manual wind movement is again in wonderful condition and has just been fully serviced by our professional watchmaker. The movement is signed ‘Rolex Geneva’, ‘Adjusted to 2 Positions’, ‘Patented Superbalance’, ‘Swiss’ and ‘Seventeen 17 Jewels’.

The Strap

To complete this piece we’ve added a new, high quality, Hirsch and Sonning Vintage Watches dark brown crocodile skin strap with gold plated buckle (we have the Hirsch franchise and would be happy to switch this to a black crocodile skin or any colour/material you require).
