Antique Globe-Wernicke tiger-eye oak No. 85-C Junior Tray Document file box or recipe box.
Made in mid-20th century in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Constructed of tiger-eye (quarter sawn) oak and measures 8 5/8" wide, 6 1/2" tall, 4 1/2" deep.
All four edges are "box joined" and the top and bottom pieces are glued to the lid and base of the box.
The base shows some pulling away from the body of the box as a result of the glue letting go.  Perhaps because of age or humidity issues.  It's not bad and is consistent with age but does need to be noted. See last photo.
It has the original metal hinges that show some corrosion.
