An 18th century ‘Amsterdams Bont’ Chinese famille-rose ewer with cover. c1770
Under glaze blue decoration with over glaze famille rose enamel painted decoration consisting of flower bouquets. Over decoration is in the Chinese style. This over decoration was executed in the Netherlands and is known as ‘Amsterdams Bont’.

Condition: Handle has been skilfully replaced with a cane covered metal handle that is firmly riveted to the porcelain body. Small rim chip. There is a hairline about 6cms long in the main body (see photographs). The lid is good. Even with the replacement handle this is a fine piece of porcelain that is attractively decorated.
