Its in Fine condition after all these years as it was fully cleaned and prepared to be working.
Crackle finish is extremely nice & adds to its beauty.
Oliver Sign still appears on the back and small part on the Carriage.
Keys all exist with minor paint loss to its White Letter Marking.
Unfortunately, there is a Crack on the front right side but after we added the new Rubber feet, it is now balanced and looks great.
NO MISSING KEYS
Minor rust on some parts due to age and we made sure to take all out but we avoided going deep to prevent any potential damage.
Appreciate taking a deep look at all pictures and zoom in so you evaluate the condition.
Mechanics: ( Read in Details please )
The Oliver typewriters are a little different from other typewriters in their mechanism specially the paper feeding and Movement of the carriage.
this is a wide carriage as mentioned however you wont be able to use the whole carriage as there is a problem in the margins, we have worked hard on setting the margins to make them work and we finally got them to work with preset margin that covers A4 paper ( New owner will not be able to re set the Margins ) .
the Carriage will work when margin are set to ( left 20mm and right at 100mm)
All Keys perfectly strike with nothing sticky but some letters are less clear than the others. Cap Letters are unbalanced to same line with the lower case and the Figs are perfectly working.
Paper Feeder is done using a the mechanism of inserting the paper then re inserting it to paper hold that is on the carriage center. this will hold the paper tight the carriage.
Unfortunately the Platen state is not at its best. there is a crack in the middle and on sides. nothing stopping paper from going in and sliding in but heavy usage might leave it more and more cracked.
Back space option working perfectly.
This Carriage is the Wide Carriage with a base of 22" and the platen is 14"
Bells nicely dings and even the preset Tabs are all working.
This typewriter line spacer (1-2-3) is not working making only one line spacer.
