One dozen larger 1940s glass Christmas ornaments from the 1940s World War II years in a classic Shiny Brite Uncle Sam and Santa box. They are about 2-3/4 to 3 inches diameter, all but one decorated with colorful mica glitter and painted stripes or rings. Some are Shiny Brites, all were made between 1942 and 1945 when silvering agents were needed for military use and ornament manufacturers had to use non-metallic finishes for their ornaments.

The set has a nice assortment of transparent colors. War ornaments tend to have a lot of finish wear, flaking, or scratches and some do have a little, but nothing severe. None have any chips or breaks. The Shiny Brite box bottom is intact but the lid is only in fair condition with split flaps held together with tape.

See my other listings for hundreds of antique and vintage Christmas items. I'm happy to combine shipping. I charge only 25 cents US handling for packing materials: new peanuts, bubble wrap, etc. and I refund all shipping overpayments on multiple item purchases.

Rest assured that after years of buying, selling, and collecting vintage ornaments, I have learned how to pack them safely. I know how heartbreaking it can be to hear that awful tinkling when your package arrives and find nothing but shards inside. Your purchases will be carefully packed with no skimping on materials to survive just about any drop, kick or fall the postal service can dish out.

Almost all my items are antique or vintage and come from a variety of sources. I cannot guarantee that any item is from a smoke-free or pet-free home.

International customers are always welcome. There is a $2 minimum handling fee on international sales and international payment must be through Paypal. Buyer is responsible for any customs fees or taxes your country may impose.
