FRESH FROM AN ESTATE

warm surface and great patina

This is by no stretch of the imagination this is the most stunning fretwork clock I have ever come across……  

this clock has a definite Black Forest feel going for it. Its Simply Stunning!

Handmade circa 1800’s this clocks principle woods are a combination of

Rosewood and Bird’s Eye Maple

The finish is original with a true old honest patina  

The two woods combined together with the lighter tone bird’s eye maple overlapping the darker rosewood beneath gives a sense of depth 

which automatically draws ones eye to its outrageously busy design / enough said.  As you can probably tell, I like this clock

Bench Made; each pierced design was painstakingly hand cut by an extremely skilled woodworker

  The movement is a key wind ( no key with this purchase ) and is the one that started life in this case

 One can clearly see the original mounting blocks still in place from the top view down into the case as seen in my photo   

The main spring winds and the balance spring does work correctly and is not broken although this clock will not stay running

for long and will need a oiling or light cleaning in order to run properly…. 

As in all clocks I sell this clock is being sold as is but it should be a good time keeper if one extends the effort   

CONDITION:   The case of this clock has a very fine and detailed Gothic elements.

 I’m going to claim that it is in as near to being in pristine condition as anything can get…… 

I looked hard and could not see any damage what so ever.  I will defer to my photographs as a camera lens is always accurate

  This case is very busy and I could have missed something, but I doubt it

This will take extra time in packing as it will be extremely difficult to pack properly....
