On offer is an excellent set of Lignum Vitae lawn bowls. They were manufactured by Taylor-Rolph Ltd. of Glasgow. They are size 5, weigh 47.7 oz. each, and are no. 4 bias. The set includes two bowls, period Jack, and leather cylinder case. The earliest legible certification stamp is dated 1939 which means that the bowls were made in 1929 or earlier. They are in very fine condition with only the most minor signs of use visible. There are few minor hairline checks visible in each bowl. This is to be expected of bowls of this age and will not affect the use of the bowls in any way. Outstanding condition for a set of bowls that are over 87 years old.The inlaid number and initial disks are made of pachyderm dentine and are in good condition.

I originally bought these as blanks to make wood carver's mallets. However, they were in such good condition, I couldn't destroy them. They deserve the chance to be used again.

The set comes in a later 50s style hard leather cylinder case with leather handle and buckle straps. One of the buckle straps is broken, but could be easily repaired. Due to the weight of the bowls, shipping will be via Courier (UPS/FedEx/etc.) delivery (delivery from the UK).
