In excellent condition this is an Irish solid sterling silver Pyx box to hold communion wafers.

The lid is engraved with the Holy “IHS” Christogram.

The lidded box opens to show the original gilt interior.

The lid is hallmarked with Harp Crowned.

The base is hallmarked with J.S for silversmith John Smith, Hibernia, Queen’s Head and date letter H for Dublin 1878.

The box measures 54mm in diameter and 20mm in height.

This is a quality 138 year old Pyx box in superb condition and offered with no reserve.
