To Use- Prep Your Cake Properly!!Use the time you have to make sure your cake is ready for the icing- a smooth cake will mean smooth icing! Take your time at this stage- it pays off! Use a hot palette knife to smooth over your buttercream to make is smooth- same with ganache. Be sure not to use too much butter icing or ganache on the outside (think butter on toast!)THIS IS REALLY IMPORTANT TO GET RIGHT! Remove the icing from the pack Give the icing a good knead (similar to kneading dough). This warms up all the sugars and makes the icing soft and pliable. Roll out the icing onto a non stick surface using a non stick rolling pin. Keep turning the paste to ensure it doesn't stick Use your rolling pin to lift the paste over the cake. Use smoothers to fit around the cake- avoid using your hands where you can. Press the icing down onto the board and cut any excess.
