This listing is for the large plate or charger that you see in the photos. The stand is not included. I acquired it from an old woman who had a large collection of Asian pottery. She said that she had been collecting for more than 30 years and that most of her pieces were old or of various ages including antique when she purchased them. She was unsure of the age of most of the pieces that I purchased from her.

It has two marks that you can see in the photos. One is a red painted mark that I think might be some kind of signature. I have not been able to find a reference for it. The other mark is an incomplete impressed mark. I believe that it is a Yamatoku (Mountain Virtue) mark. An online reference that I found says that Yamtoku is a kiln in Saga Prefecture that began production at the beginning of Meiji (1868-1912) period and still operates today. The reference also says that the mark on this charger when found on Igezara transfer ware plates indicates a time of manufacture that is mostly around 1910-1920. This charger is not transfer ware so I am not sure that time period would be correct for it. I leave it to the buyer to determine its exact age.

It measures close to 18 inches diameter and close to 2 inches high. It weighs close to 6 pounds 14 ounces. On my monitor the colors are close to the actual colors. Different monitors may show different colors. The border around the central image looks like shiny gold when the light reflects off of it at an angle.

Please be aware that the lighting in the photos is uneven and that there are shadows and reflections.

The condition is much like you see it in the 16 photos after the general description. It is generally in excellent condition with no cracks or chips or signs of repair. There are several extremely light scratches that are invisible unless they are viewed at an angle where the light reflects off them. Even under those conditions, they are not easy to see. They are mostly in the white area in the center image. A tiny amount of the brown line near the edge is missing. You can see what I mean in a close-up. Otherwise, this charger is fine and as shown. My photos should give you a good idea of its general condition.

I guarantee this charger to be as described and represented by the photos. The photos are part of the description.
