2015 & British women 'have worst sex lives in Europe"!

A recent survey found that British women in their prime have worse sex lives than their counterparts anywhere else in Europe, a survey revealed yesterday.

It showed that a quarter of British women aged 50 and over have sex once a month or less - the only country below the European average. Just one in five older women in this country has sex more than five times a month compared to a third of women in France, Switzerland and Germany, and more than a quarter in Italy and Holland.

The survey shows British women - like elsewhere in Europe - believe a good sex life is important for their health and well-being but they are more prepared to 'suffer in silence'. More than 1,800 women aged 50 to 60 and from six European countries took part in the Organon Sexuality and Well Being Survey and the results were released in Paris yesterday.

Women in the UK are having less sex compared with the rest of Europe and that is a real statistic. The number of women dissatisfied with sex is significant and it has a big impact on different aspects of their lives. Most women would prefer more sex - and so would their partners. Key findings from the survey show 25 per cent of British women had sex once a month or less - the only country with a worse percentage than the European average of 18 per cent. Only 22 per cent of British women have sex five or more times a month - lower than all other European countries.

Overall 80% of women surveyed said maintaining a satisfying sex life was important to them, and an important part of their relationship with their husband or partner.

Dr Morris, of the Norfolk and Norwich Healthcare Trust, said: 'The survey shows when a woman is having less sex she does not feel good about it, she feels less female and that is disappointing.' 'Perhaps couples in the UK who have lived together a long time tend to have a more companionable than sexual relationship,' he said.
