CHUNCK OF RARE FINE WHITE   TAM O' SHANTER SCOTCH HONE

the Scotch Hone Works have not produced hones since the early 1980's

ideal as a razor hone, or for any fine edged blade/tool

the hone  size is 114 mm long 40mm wide 31mm  deep  all dims approximate
the hone is lapped flat on both larger face

in my opinion the hone is around the 10k mark in grits
this is quite a light speckled Tam, and being a little on the finer side, from others I have used
I have honed several types of blades, using this a a final hone, finishing with strop on leather, achieving good results
please remember this is a very rare vintage hone, it may have been used with fine oil in the past,
I have used only water with the hone, with no problems
