Its  tuning keys make keeping it in tune *much* easier than with the peg system.

This unique viol made by the renowned German luthier Joannes Adler plays beautifully.

It has had a professional repair to the neck and body at some point in its long life as is not uncommon with older bowed instruments and one of the superbly crafted ebony frets is missing two very small pieces at the but these do not negatively impact playing. The frets are set to provide superb tempered tuning across the fingerboard. Much superior to the historical string fretting.

The all-important sound post is fully intact and in place as you would expect.

It will be fully strung with Pirastro strings and comes with a good bow, a padded soft case and rosin.

I bought this as my first Viol/Viola da Gamba to learn how to play it for a performance.

I am now selling it in order to upgrade to my next instrument.
