An attractive copper engraved antique map of the areas bordering the Irish Sea and St.George's Channel enhanced with original hand colouring.
Covers most of Ireland with Wales, Isle of Man and parts of England and Scotland.
Fine condition other than very minor age blemishes. The lower left section of the margin has been reinstated to facilitate mounting/matting. Fold lines as issued.
Printed on hand laid paper, blank verso.
Approx. 14" x 10.5" (360mm x 265mm) map area only with margins beyond.
The Universal Magazine was a popular 18th century illustrated periodical.
It was established in 1747 by John Hinton and ran until 1799. The fine copper engraved illustrations and maps are widely collected.
