This Magitran Poly-Sonic model E-41 flat panel speaker has a molded plastic cabinet and was originally designed for outdoor use. Inside is a "pancake thin" 3-way speaker. Magitran began producing their Polyplanar in-wall speakers in 1969, and these free-standing units were introduced in 1972. It includes a pair of walnut standing feet, and can be positioned horizontally, vertically, wall-mounted or hanging from the ceiling. It is fully tested and in excellent condition. It does not appear to have gotten any use, as the walnut feet were still factory-taped to the inner wall of the speaker (we removed the old tape residue from the speaker). Original instruction sheet is included. Cabinet measures 16.25 inches x 13.25 inches x 2 inches. Speaker is rated at 40 watts peak power. Popular Mechanics actually reviewed this speaker in July, 1972, stating "the sound quality, slightly rough by usual hi-fi standards, was not unpleasant".
