THe Studer A820, in my personal oppinion, the finest reel to reel tape recorder ever made, and I have had quite a few including other mastering machines like Ampex, 3M, Scully, OTARI, EMI, the list goes on, but out of them all, the Studer A820 blows them away! This machine is the last of the Studers machines, with everything put in it,. all the great things such as the A812's computer setup and keypad, the A80's super silky transport and largewhite operating keys, this machine can handle reels as small as 3 inch all the way up to 14 and doesn't stretch the tape like many others would. The deck features things like constant tension, whilst in operation you can shuttle the tape reels by hand to find the spot you need to edit, it also has a shuttle option and thumb wheel, built in splicing scissors and programmable memory for saving locations on the tape. This machine is very sophisticated under the covers too, the machine has a central control processing unit which controls sub controllers for the audio and mechanical processors, giving this machine one of the best and technically great transports in the world. I once spoke to an ex employee of BAUCH who sold Studers and modified Studers in the UK, he said only 18 of these high price machines ever passed through their sales, Abbey road was one of their customers, these machines back then had a hefty price tag of £45,000! Only the top studios could afford them. This machine is in good condition, it is missing the back cover which does not effect the functionality of the machine, there are a few marks here and there but to be expected from a machine of its age, it is however fully functioning and calibrated to BBC standard test tape. This machine belongs to a very good friend of mine who has asked me to repair it and sell it, there are a number of other machines being repaired which include machines such as the Nagra T, Studer A80, A812, A820, A807's, AKAI's galore, Sony galore including a APR-5002, Ferrograph series, super and logic 7, Teac X-1000R, X-2000R, OTARI's, Tandbergs, Tascam, other Revox machines, the list goes on and on. These machines will appear on Ebay once they are ready unless sold prior. This machine is in full working order and comes with 30 days of warranty. WORLDWIDE SHIPPING!
