POLAR Speed Sensor W.I.N.D. ~ For POLAR RC3, RCX5, RCX3, rs800cx, cs600x, cs600, cs500 heart rate monitors.
This sensor was used on an indoor cycling setup for a few months. Looks brand new, very gently used sensor. The battery is still going strong at present. We tested the sensor with a POLAR RS800CX. Includes Speed Sensor W.I.N.D., original USER MANUAL, OEM rubber bike mount, and two black zip-ties. NO SPOKE MAGNET INCLUDED.
POLAR designed these to be smaller and lighter and also to require less energy from the battery. The battery will work for about 3-5 years before going bad and is a tiny CR-1632 lithium battery. Once the battery is spent, it can be replaced but only if you are willing to cut the sensor open along the seam with a razor blade and re-glue (thin epoxy bead) it back together after replacing the battery. Videos and blogs explaining how to do this can be found online.
ABOUT POLAR W.I.N.D. TECHNOLOGY - The main advantage of POLAR's new W.I.N.D. technology is the elimination of the requirement to limit the distance between the heart rate monitor watch / main unit and any accompanying POLAR sensors in order for the wireless receptivity to work well. A watch unit may be more satisfactorily worn on the wrist while cycling. Also, POLAR W.I.N.D. technology allows for the placement of a POLAR W.I.N.D. Speed Sensor at the REAR wheel of a bicycle. POLAR W.I.N.D. technology products may NOT be used with older non-W.I.N.D. products.
