Charlotte Maria Tucker (1821-1893) was an English children's writer and missionary. She grew up in London, but dedicated her later life to charitable works in India. Her writing encompasses adventure, romance, oriental tales, and stories of domestic life. 'The Rambles of a Rat', first published in 1857, is regarded as one of her most imaginative works. (DNB).
CONDITION
In a modern half leather binding, with marbled paper coverings, and gilt pages. Externally, fine. Internally, generally firmly bound, although the frontispiece and titlepage are detached but present. Light browning prominent to page edges, with occasional small spots and marks. Some light foxing to p141-145. Overall: VERY GOOD.
