Very rare one of the oldest watches with a 36000 high-beat movement.

Only Girard-Perregaux had maybe an older version: the Gyromatic HF.

It is the oldest Seiko high-beat watch I could find information about in the internet.

This special Lord Marvel 36000 5740-8000 with the high-beat 5740c movement (see photo) was sold by Seiko starting in 1967.

It is very likely they began to produce the 36000 watches allready in 1966 for testing.

( The first Seiko lcd quartz watches 0514, 0614 were made in December 1972 but for sale end of 1973. )

It is serviced by a professional watchmaker who told me that he could see looking at the case/back/crystal and movement-condition that the watch was not used much.

It is working fine but you have to wind it everyday as it is a hand-wound model.

Winding the crown could be a bit difficult: you have to wind it firmly.

I  fitted an expensive new original Seiko strap (a pity they send me a "gold" buckle version :-(  )

I think the condition of this watch, it is the oldest Seiko and maybe one of the oldest 36000 watches still working, makes it highly collectible.

It is more than 50 years old so I can not give any guarantees to it.
