This Flight Lines booklet is piece of WWII history. “Graduation Book of Aviation Cadet Class 44-C”is a record of service from Merced Army Air Field, Merced, California, from 1944.  Colonel A. J. McVea was the “newly appointed commandant of MAAF”.  The booklet contains photos and descriptions of various departments and the people who staffed them; stories about activities, including going home for Christmas; cartoons; and photos, names of the cadets from squadrons eleven, twelve, thirteen, fourteen, fifteen, and sixteen, and the aviation cadets; and descriptions of their units and their instructors. 

 

The booklet is 48 pages, including cover, and overall is in excellent shape.  Though darkened with age, the inside pages are in excellent shape, no writing.  Page 2 has a 1½” light stain (pic with airplane at top); page 3/4 has crease and small tear on the edge of the page (pic with dedication), page 5/6 has same crease; 42-46 have a ¼” x 2” watermark at the very bottom of the page near the binding (pic of squadron 16).  The cover has wear, as shown in the picture.  This is detailed for you, but most pages are in excellent condition.
