This finely-detailed white bisque porcelain figurine features a kneeling modern-day father with his arms around his son.  It is an impressive piece of Kaiser-Porzellan, made in West Germany and signed by the artist, Wolfgang Gawantka.  The authentic blue Kaiser stamp is printed on the base along with a “Golden Crown E & R” foil label.  According to the brown ink stamp on the base it is a limited edition sculpture, it being No. 582 out of 5,000 pieces produced.  Incised on the base is the mold #659 and on the inside of the father’s leg are the incised initials, “W. G.”, for the designer of this piece, Wolfgang Gawantka.  This endearing father and son statue measures approximately 7” in height by 4 ½” in width and comes with its own wooden stand that measures approximately 5 ¾” in length by 4 ½” in width by ¾” in height.  Both pieces are in mint condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, discolorations or any other evidence of damage.  This is an exquisite Kaiser-Porzellan statue that displays subtle gracefulness and the exceptional artistry of Wolfgang Gawantka.
