The pickups, hardware and finish are all specified by Mascis himself for tremendous tone and value. Only one instrument is good enough to bear his signature on his headstock—the J Mascis Jazzmaster.

What was refurbished on this guitar:
When this guitar came in from the factory, the only issue found by the authorized refurbisher was a small lacquer ding on the side of the body. The ding was expertly repaired by the refurbisher - completely sealed and re-finished (see photo). No other repairs or modifications were made to the guitar. Aside from the minor lacquer repair, it looks and plays like new. Back of the headstock is stamped "used" and original serial # has been replaced with a new one.
