This vintage 1960s three-piece Little Red Riding Hood hand puppet and book set is simply adorable!
Included is a hand-crafted Little Red Riding Hood and Big Bad Wolf puppet that's been fashioned from wool felt. Little Red Riding Hood stands approximately 12" tall while the Big Bad Wolf puppet stands about 11" in height.
From the Big Bad Wolf's bushy tail, big red mouth, and shell-finish eyes to the scalloped trim on Little Red Riding Hood's dress, tiny tassle on the tip of her hood and the white rick rack trim around her cape, it's obvious someone spent a lot of time lovingly crafting these hand puppets so they would bring joy and delight to some lucky little boy or girl.
The companion book, illustrated by Anne Sellers Leaf, was published by Rand McNally in 1963. Part of Rand McNally's "Elf" series of books for children, this 20-page picture book is lavishly illustrated in full color and has larger type which makes it easier for a young reader or even Grandma/Grandpa to read!
Book is in excellent vintage condition with just some slight rubbing/ shelf wear to outside covers. Puppets were made, stored away, and never played with or used - in other words, brand-new!
What a delightful trio! Perfect gift for the grandkids which Grandma (or Grandpa!) can play with and enjoy together. A fantastic gift idea as the puppets can be used to act out this classic fairy tale while the book is read aloud.
Set also makes a wonderful baby / shower gift as the puppets/book display beautifully and could be used as nursery decor until the child was old enough to play with and enjoy the set.
