 IF YOU CAN DRILL A HOLE IN WOOD YOU CAN DO THIS REPAIR ITS EASY!

This simple repair can be carried out by a person with very basic DIY skills. The repair takes around 20 minutes to complete and is guaranteed for the lifetime of the unit. We can offer this guarantee, because after the repair, the pressure equalised unit will react differently to the environment. On hot days the unit will no longer expand, open and breathe out dry air under pressure. Neither will the unit breathe in damp air when cooling and closing. It is the damp air the unit breathes in that later causes the unit to condensate. Also the repaired unit will have the same thermal value as when it was new, except for if it was argon filled, then the thermal value will be slightly lower. 

For fastest results it's always recommended to drill from the outside pane of glass, you will get much quicker results if you can do this. If you are in a tall building or other location where this is just not possible, you can drill from the inside pane leaving the hole open until the window has cleared, the repair will take longer to complete however it will clear.

SIMPLE REPAIR OVERVIEW

1. Install the first template in the lowest bottom corner and the second template in the opposite top corner on the external pane of glass. (Intenral pane can be used however pelase see note above)
2. Drill one hole through both templates using the tiny diamond drill bit whilst spraying with water.
3. Insert a tiny magnet into the cavity; now use both magnets to break up any mildew and to clean the area around the hole, brushes are provided to help with this process
4. Insert Condensation2Clear drying agent pellets into the unit. (The pellets will eventually disappear)
5. Install & cement in both holes two tiny transparent plugs with a 0.5mm pressure release hole once the window has cleared.

You will need to supply one electric drill and tap water!

1 - If your unit has failed for a long time chemicals from the desiccants mix with the condensation and the sun bakes the chemicals into the glass causing a cloudy effect. This is staining or etching and looks like river inlets inside the unit. Etching is baked into the glass and CANNOT be removed.

2 - This repair can be carried out 12 months of the year. A repair carried out in the damp weather conditions will arrest the unit from getting more saturated and the glass from becoming damaged by etching. The unit can take up to 12 weeks to completely dry out. Only install the plugs on a dry summer day with low humidity, when the sky is clear blue with no clouds, the unit must be clear of condensation before plugs are installed. By making a purchase you agree to a 12 week drying out period.

3 - Our videos demonstrate the repair on a standard UPVC window with a standard gap of between 16-24mm. If your double glazed sealed units are not in standard UPVC frames with a standard gap, then please contact us before purchasing this product, the repair can be done on any window with a gap of 6mm+ however we need to speak with you first.

4 - Toughened glass CANNOT be drilled. To find out if your glass is toughened look in the four corners of the unit, if you find a kitemark this means that the glass is toughened. We have a toughened glass kit available check our other items for this.  Ensure you follow the toughened glass instruction to repair these windows.

5 - We guarantee this kit to work on units up to 4' wide. For units that are wider than 4' you may need to drill a additional holes to distribute drying agent across the whole unit.  Extra vents and drying agent are available contact us for costs and options.
