You are looking at a new Genuine Original Vokswagen
RCD-310 Radio/CD/MP3 player
This was factory fitted to the Polo/ Sharan/ T5/ Tiguan/ Beetle/ Golf 6/ EOS/ Passat/ Touran etc.
It will fit straight into:
<2014 Polo / Sharan / Golf Mk5 Hatch+Estate / Golf Mk6 / Golf Plus / EOS / Touran / Passat Saloon & Estate / Jetta / Caddy / T5 and basically any model that has the fittings for a RCD300 or 500 or MFD2 or RCD 210
It will not fit in the old shape Polo/Sharan/T5 or Fox/Golf MK4/Lupo which have a standard Double DIN slot
It has the next generation of amplifiers giving a far superior sound quality to the previous generation (RCD200/300/500) It has to be heard to be believed (no need to change speakers)
It is MP3 compatible so you can 10-12 Albums (about 200 tracks!) on each CD and it will play them and show all the track/artist/album details (see photo)
You can also connect the (optional) VW MDI adaptor which has full Ipod/USB menu and text etc to just a simple AUX-In adaptor (extra parts required)
If you have a highline computer, all the track details will show on the dash as well as on the radio display!
(The aerial plug is slightly different on some older models but all you need to do is to remove the plastic cover and it will fit. Alternatively, I can supply an adaptor which would just plug straight in. This is optional and costs £20.00)
That makes it a perfect upgrade for the Golf mk5/6 Bluemotion/ Polo S/ Golf 5/6 Match/ GT sport/GTi/R32
It is fully compatible with the multi function steering wheel
Please note that on older models, there may be a battery drian issue as older cars have the old CANBUS version.

CANBUS adaptors or other fixes to avoid battery drain:
Basically in pre-2008 models you are going to have a battery drain problem.There are 3 solutions: 1) the 'proper' (also most difficult/expensive!) way is to replace the CAN Gateway in your car with a new one. We can supply the part for £125 but it is very difficult to do and you will need to copy the codes from the old one and write them to the new one etc so requires specialist equipment 2) the easy but not cheap way is that we can supply a plug'n'play CANBUS adaptor for £125 which just plugs into the back of the radio and takes care of things 3) the cheapest way is to modify the wiring slightly so the radio only has power when the ignition is switched on. This is quite easy to do and takes about 20 minutes if you know what you are doing and doesn't cost anything. The only downside to this is that if you are playing a CD and turn the car off and then on, the CD will always restart at CD1, Track 1 rather than where it left off. The radio presets etc are maintained and there is no need to put the code in each time so it's not so bad
